Bob passed away January 25, 2009 from lung cancer. His wife of 52 years was by his side. Bob was born April 10, 1931 in Sterling, Colorado, to Herbert and Elvera Beard (nee Dugger), joining his elder brother, Mel, and later, younger brother, Bill. Upon the death of his father in 1936, Elvera brought the boys to Salem where Bob grew up. Bob served in the Korean War and then worked for the State Highway Department for 36 years. He married Pat Watson August 4, 1956. Bob loved to joke with people, and one of his favorite things to do was to pull jokes on his family. He loved sports, camping, and bowling, which he continued to do until suffering a stroke in 2005. Preceding him in death is his parents; sister, Vera Beard; brothers, Mel and Bill Beard; his daughter, Gerri Gregerson; and sister-in-law, Midge Beard. Bob's sense of humor will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Bob's ashes are interred in the wall overlooking his daughter Gerri and mother-in-law Luetta Watson. A place that he always said "that is where I want to be overlooking my family"
