Donald "Don" W. Hall died unexpectedly December 10, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa after a sudden emergency.

Don was born on July 16, 1922 the son of Guy Hall and Julia Birdie Schwartz/McConnell at Van Horne, Iowa. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was fortunate to stay stateside during his enlistment. He met Genevieve Ann Fritz for the first time at the Danceland Ballroom in Cedar Rapids in December 1944 while home on leave for Christmas. They married on April 14, 1945 at St. Joseph's Rectory in Washington DC. Don spent many years as a maintenance machinist for Cedar Rapids Engineering Company, Cherry Burrell Corporation and Cryovac in Cedar Rapids, Iowa retiring in 1985 from Cryovac.

Surviving are his wife, Genevieve of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Patricia Ann Anderson and Sheri Lyn Yancey of Cedar Rapids, and Judith Kay (Earl) Sigwarth of Toddville, Iowa; five grandchildren, Angela Sue (Daren) Campbell of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Aaron James (Amber) Anderson of Spooner, Wisconsin, Trent Eugene Sigwarth (Amanda Kugley) of Coralville, Iowa, Travis Lee Sigwarth of Toddville and Derek Robert Yancey of Cedar Rapids; three great grandchildren, Andrew Lee Campbell and Chloe Elizabeth Campbell of Jacksonville, North Carolina and Cameron Steven Sigwarth of Coralville, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by his father in February 1973; his mother in October 1982 and his brother, Dale Ellsworth Hall of North Carolina in February 2005. Don is dearly loved by his family and will be forever missed.
