Final rites for Mrs. Charles Burr of Iowa City, were conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Evangelical and Reformed church in Lone Tree by Rev. Otto E. Baumann, pastor of the church. Interment was in the Lone Tree Cemetery with Sorden and Adams in charge of arrangements.

Louise Barbara Burr, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Stamm Schuessler, was born September 10, 1889 near Lone Tree, Iowa. On December 28, 1912, she was united in marriage to Charles Burr at the home of her parents. They established their home northwest of Lone Tree where they resided until 1949 when they retired to their present home in Iowa City.

Mrs. Burr was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church in Lone Tree, the Women’s Guild, the Lincoln Rural Women’s club, the Iowa City Women’s club and the Hukill Rebekah Lodge in Lone Tree.

Mrs. Burr’s death came suddenly Thursday evening, December 9, at 11:30 p.m. at her home. She leaves to mourn her passing the following relatives: her husband; one daughter, Shirley Burr of Minneapolis, Minn.; one son, Wayne Burr of Lone Tree; one grandson, Alan Charles Burr; five sisters, Mrs. A. A. Timmerman of Iowa City, Mrs. Bertha Jehle of Moline, Ill., Mrs. Mary Perezek, Mrs. Frieda Carpenter, Miss Laura Schuessler all of Lone Tree; and three brothers, Stephen Schuessler of West Liberty, Albert Schuessler of Iowa City, and Arthur Schuessler of Lone Tree. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Pallbearers at the services were Joe Henik, Chester Denter, Joe Krehlik, Carl Goetz all of Iown Ciiy, August Meyer and Emil Meyer of Lone Tree. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. August Meyer of Lone Tree, Mrs. Chester Denter, Mrs. Joe Krehlik and Mrs. Joe Henik of Iowa City.

Mrs. Raymond Rife, soloist sang "Beautiful Isle” and “Take My Hand Precious Lord.” Mrs. Rife was accompanied by Mrs. Phyllis Blown at the organ.
