Funeral services for Elvin Cornlous Buckelew, 85, of Baileyton will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. David Stancil officiating, with interment in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery in the Gum Pond community.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Buckelew died Friday, Jan. 13, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 6, 1926, in Cullman to William Jake and Lily Nina Eddleman Buckelew. He was a retired truck driver who worked for D.E. Thomas Trucking. He was a member of Welcome Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Velva-Lee Buckelew; a daughter, Karen (Phil) Knight; three sons, Michael (Suzanne) Buckelew, Craig (Sharman) Buckelew and Krel (Kathy) Buckelew; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
