Hall of Fame Professional Hockey Player. For fourteen seasons (1942 to 1957), he played at the center position in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a member and key player on five Stanley Cup championship teams (1944-1945, 1946-1947, 1947-1948, 1948-1949 and 1950-1951 Maple Leafs). His other notable career highlights include recipient of the Hart Memorial Trophy for the 1954-1955 season, and six-time NHL All-Star selection (1947 to 1951, 1954). Kennedy led the league in goals with 43 during the 1950-1951 season. In 696 career regular season games, he scored 231 goals with 329 assists. His post season career included 29 goals, with 31 assists in 78 games. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966. Following his playing career, he coached junior hockey and worked in the trucking industry. He died from congestive heart failure.
