GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Billy K. Boone, 71, of Gaithersburg, formerly of Summers County, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at his home. Born October 4, 1937, in Hinton, he was the son of the late Cecil A. & Mary Emmer Wyant Boone. Mr. Boone was a graduate of Talcott High School. Mr. Boone was a retired carpenter and was the previous owner of Boone Home Improvement in Rockville/Gaithersburg, MD, until health no longer permitted. He was a United States Army veteran. Preceded in death by his wife, Iline Atwell Boone. Survivors include a son, Billy Karl Boone Jr. & wife, Susan of Silver Spring, MD; one daughter, Cherie Sheets & husband, Conley of Martinsburg, WV; three grandchildren, Taylor Mae and Grayson Boone and Chelsea Drake; one brother, Benny Boone & wife, Juanita of Hilldale; one sister, Brenda Cooper of Forest Hill; nieces and nephews, Pat Boone, Sharon Sizemore, Kathy Boone, Bryan Boone, Kenny Cooper and Kim Cooper. Visitation will be held at Pumphrey Funeral Home, Rockville, Md., today, Friday, August 14, 2009, from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A visitation will also be held at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2009. Graveside services and burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Woodrumtown Cemetery, Woodrumtown, with Pastor Eddie Harris officiating.
