Frances Edwardine Trammell, 90, former resident of Cottonwood, AZ, passed away
Monday, January 9, 2006 in Phoenix, AZ.

She was born in Caddo, Oklahoma on September 30, 1915 to Edgar A. and Walsie "Flossie" Benton.

As a child, she attended the Shawnee Mission School.

Throughout her life, Frances worked hard, and she held various jobs; from waitressing and cooking to owning her own business in Cottonwood. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Though Frances wore various "professional hats", fulfilling different roles, her most treasured role was that of housewife and mother.

For a brief time, Frances lived in Guam. She wanted to be near her son, John, who was there for a time with his employment. While there, she became very active in the community and she captured the hearts of the Islanders and was honored with several Awards for her outstanding volunteer services.

France was very people-oriented. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her! She was so very kind and accepting of people. She was never judgmental of anyone; she simply loved a person for who they were. Frances loved meeting people and building friendships with them. She found the greatest joy in being with her family and her friends, both new and old. To know Frances, was to truly love her. Her bright smile and loving manner will leave us never, but her sweet presence, we will miss forever.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Orville Trammell; her step-sons, Walker Trammell and Jack Trammell; her brother, Edgar A. Benton, Jr.; her sister, Winnie Mae "Billie" Coulter; brother-in-law, Ed Coulter; and 5 grandchildren.

She leaves behind her cherished son, John C. Trammell of Ajo, AZ; her beloved step-sons, Ralph H. Trammell of Bennett, TX, and Danny Trammell, previously of Gila Bend, AZ; her darling sister-in-law, Lois Trammell of Boise, ID; her sweet niece, Betty McCarron of Newhall, CA, who she lived with, for some time, after leaving Guam and returning to the states; as well as, several other nieces and nephews whom she adored. She also leaves 13 grandchildren that she thought were the world!

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 11:00am at the Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale, AZ. There she will be laid to rest with her sweetheart and husband of 48 years, William Orville Trammell.

Memorial contributions can be made to France's family, and can be sent to: John C. Trammell, P.O. Box 913, Ajo, AZ 85321.
