BARON, Elizabeth Harris, 69, of Tullahoma, died March 3 at her residence. A native of Anderson, South Carolina, Mrs. Baron was a homemaker and member of the first United Methodist Church. She was active in the Tullahoma Women's Club, serving as president and chairwoman of the board of trustees, and was on the state board of the Tennessee Federation of Women's Clubs. In 1998 she was presented with the GFWC/TFWC Tribute of Honor Award for many years of service to the Women's Club. She was also a member of the Lakewood Country Club Ladies Golf Association. Services were March 6 at the First United Methodist Church, with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Tullahoma Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

BARON, Elizabeth Harris, 69, a longtime member of Tullahoma women's organizations, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999 at her residence. She was a past president and past chairman of the board of trustees of the Tullahoma Woman's Club and also served on the state board of the Tennessee Federation of Woman's Clubs. In the spring of 1998, she was presented the GFWC/TFWC Tribute of Honor for her many years of services to the organizations. In addition to her work with women's clubs, she was also an active member of the Lakewood Country Club's Ladies Golf Association and a member of First United Methodist Church. A native of Anderson, S.C., she was the daughter of the Llewellyn and Marie Harris and was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances Upchurch. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Izzy Baron; daughter and son-in-law, Marie Baron Chessor and Jeff Chessor, Murfreesboro; two sons and daughter-in-law, Sam Baron, Nashville, and Joe and Luann Baron, Murfreesboro; four sisters, Lucile Hamilton, Columbia, Tenn., and Jean Harrington, Maudell Daniel and Alice Davis, all of Anderson, S.C.; two brothers, Jesse Harris, Anderson, and Bruce Harris, Hartwell, Ga., and three grandchildren, Abby and Jordon Baron and Austin Chessor, all of Murfreesboro. Vistitation at Tullahoma Funeral Home will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, March 5. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999, at First United Methodist Church with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Highland Rim, which provided precious love and care during her illness. Elizabeth will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Tullahoma Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
