CREEDMOOR -- DOWELL McCoy BENNETT, 91, a resident of 2643 West Lyons Station Road, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at his home.
A native of Danberry, he was the son of the late Ollie M. and Dora Pulliam BENNETT. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, an Army veteran of WWII and a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by Dr. Marc Tilley and the Rev. Tommy Robertson.
Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda B. Freeman (Nelson); a son, Larry BENNETT (Darlene), both of Creedmoor; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. His wife of 69 years, Maurine Friddle BENNETT, and a son, Steve BENNETT, preceded him in death.
