Funeral Conducted For Mrs. Joella Poe
Funeral services for Mrs. Joella Poe of Winnsboro were held Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church in Winnsboro. Officiating were Rev. Thurman Levacy of Winnsboro and Rev. Verlon Feller of Quitman.
Burial was in Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of the Cain Funeral Home.
Mrs. Poe, 87, died Tuesday at the home of a son, Clifton Poe, Rt. 1, Quitman. She was born in Florence, Ala., and had lived in Wood County about 70 years.
Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Whitley of Winnsboro and Mrs. Ruth Cater of Garland; five sons, H. C. and Morris Poe, both of Winnsboro; Jack Poe, Caddo Mills, E. A. Poe of Josephine; and C. F. Poe of Rt. 1, Quitman; two sisters, Mrs. Molly Elledge, Dallas, and Mrs. Esther Lee of Baird; 23 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
