MYERS - Died, Wednesday, July 26, 1893, of diphtheria, at the home of parents in Monroe township, MARY ERVILLE, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Columbus Myers, aged 8 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Although suffering terrible agony during her illness of but a week little Ervie was never heard to complain. She expressed her willingness to die, saying she loved her Savior and wanted to go to Him so that she might be released from her sufferings. On account of the disease being so contagious no funeral services were held. A memorial service will be held later on. The remains were interred in the Wymore cemetery. The family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.

Darling mamma, I'm so weary.
Oh, that God would let me die!
Then my suffering would be ended
And I'd reign with Him on high.

Do not weep for me, dear momma,
Though the years seem long and dark;
For the boatman now is waiting
In his well beloved bark.

He will bear me safely over,
For his Jesus guides the oar;
And I know my grandpa's waiting
For me on that other shore.

Although I now alone must travel
Paths that often have been trod,
Yet I do not fear the journey,
For I leave it all with God.

Good-bye, papa, may God bless you!
I am not afraid to die.
For I love my Savior dearly,
And I long to rest on high.

Goodbye, mamma, I am ready;
At the gates I seem to stand,
And the angels now are beckoning
To me from that other land.

Tell my little friends, dear mamma,
That I would, before I die,
like to see them all, but cannot;
So I say my last goodbye.

Sleep, little Ervie, rest in peace.
Gone from home and friends away.
For your soul has gained the portals
Of that one eternal day.

Oh, the anguish of this parting!
Mortal tongue can never tell.
But we know you are safe with Jesus.
Angel Ervie, fare thee well.
