Mr. Harshberger was born in Rockingham County seventy-eight years ago. He was a farmer and spent almost his entire life near Goods Mill. While a young man, he united with the Church of the Brethren and for the last thirty-seven years had been a deacon in the Mill Creek congregation. He was regarded as one of the progressive and prosperous fanners of that section.
Mr. Harshberger was twice married. His first wife was Miss Elizabeth Showalter, who died in 1882. His second wife, who was Miss Helen Kaysear, survives him. He also leaves four children — Dr. C. P. Harshberger, Mrs. Martha Diehl, Mrs. Elizabeth Bowman and Mrs. Mary, Pence, all of Goods Mill. He also leaves thirty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning from the Mill Creek Chrch of the Brethren. Services will be conducted by Rev. C. E. Long and Rev. Saylor Greyer.
