HALE, Ida M. - McMinnville resident and Norfolk, VA native Ida M. Hale, age 76, was born April 14, 1933 and died August 11, 2009 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following a one-year illness. An employee of North Hills Daycare and member of the Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Chester Lee and Lillie Mae Owens Merrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mavis R. Davis and brother, William S. Roughton. She was married March 28, 1953 to Clay Franklin Hale of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Larry Stotts of McMinnville and Patricia and Horace Moore of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, Keith Thrower, Gary Thrower, Michael Lance, Retha Payne and Clayton Payne; eight great-grandchildren and sister and brother-in-law, Lota and Rodney Aho of McMinnville. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009 in High's Chapel with Danny Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Bybee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at High's.
