Mrs Louise Irene (Beard) Smith, 74, of 1421 Taney Ave., Frederick, died Wednesday, Feb. 18. Her husband Alvey N. Smith, died in 1960. Born April 16, 1923, in Woodsboro, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Webster and Maude Irene Keeney Beard. Mrs. Smith woeked for a number of years as a prep cook for Watson's Family Restaurant, Frederick. Surviving are a son, Ronald G. Smith and wife Diana of Walkersville; two granddaughters, Angela M. Rinkinen and Shelby A. Smith; a sister, Pauline Fogle of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a brother, Theodore Beard of Fishers, Ind. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Woodsboro, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. The Rev Albert K Lane III, pastor of Walkersville United Methodist Church, will officate. Interment will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery, Woodsboro.
