Clara Elizabeth Weaver, 96, of Vandalia, died at 9:26 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia. Memorials: The family.
Mrs. Weaver was born on April 26, 1913, in Patoka, the daughter of David and Tarcy Hall Corson. She married Clarence M. Weaver on Sept. 10, 1932, in Shobonier; he died on June 12, 1983.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Beulah Abendroth of Vandalia; brother, Leo Corson of Centralia; grandchildren, Elizabeth and her husband John Horton of Springfield, Teresa and her husband John Etcheson of Vandalia, Frank Figueroa and his wife Jess of Beecher City, Juan Carlos Figueroa of Mission Hills, Calif., and Sonny Reynolds and his wife Rosario of Woodbridge, Va.; and great-grandchildren, Kayla Matthews, Amber, Aaron, Matthew, Zachary and Faye Etcheson, and Chance, Chase and Scott Figueroa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Russell Weaver; brother, Fred Weaver; sisters, Alta, Alice, Gertie, Effie and Beulah; and grandson, Tony Reynolds.
