Dennis Warren Moore, 59, of Rudyard, passed away on Aug.5,2009, while he was fishing in the Upper Peninsula with his buddy.
He was born on Sept.9,1949 in Petoskey, the son of Harry and Violet(DeForrest) Moore.
Dennis graduated from Traverse City High School.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force in the Gun Fighter Squadron from 1969 to 1972. Dennis had a great love for his country.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, woodworking and wood carving. Dennis adored his family and grandchildren, they were his world.
Dennis was a member of the Williamsburg VFW Post, Kalkaska Archery Club and a 4-H Archery Instructor. He was also instrumental in helping to start the 4-H Club in Rudyard.
Dennis is survived by his children, Troy A.(Kina) Moore of Houghton Lake and Natalie A. (Jeff) Terrell of Traverse City; his soul mate, Loma "Lorrie" Hauswirth of Rudyard; his mother, Violet Moore of East Jordan; his grandchildren, Zander, Olivia, Corinne, Nicklas, Jonathan, Taylor and Hunter, his siblings, Ginny (Bud) Carey of East Jordan, Ken (Kathy) Moore of Williamsburg and Cliff Moore of Traverse City.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Harry.
The funeral service was held at the Kalkaska United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Greg Wolfe officiating. Military honors was provided by the Kalkaska VFW Post 8684
