Joe grew up in Pickford, graduating from Pickford High School in 1982. On June 21, 1986, he married Jamie Prue Zilke at the Pickford Presbyterian Church. Joe had started working at the Pickford Co-Op Grocery Store as a teen and worked there in various capacities until 1995 when he, his wife, and young sons moved to Florida. After a couple of years, they decided that Pickford was where they wanted to raise their family.
Joe worked at Pickford Schools as a custodian for seven years, also working part time for Frito-Lay in the summers. Eventually, he went to work full time at Frito-Lay.
Joe was a member of the Stalwart Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. Joe loved music – singing, playing guitar and writing songs he shared with the community. Joe was a kind thoughtful man who had a great sense of humor. He loved his family dearly and truly enjoyed being a husband and father.
Joe Leach was survived by his wife, Jamie Leach and two sons, Joshua Leach and Jeremiah Leach. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Michael Everson of Williamsburg, Michigan, Anna (Greg) Dagenhardt of Davisburg, Michigan, Gerald Leach of St. Augustine, Florida, Jason Leach of Macon, Georgia, Laurie (Steven) Hancock of Pickford, and Sandy (Perry) Causley of Lansing, Michigan; step-mother, Bonnie Leach of Pickford; mother-in-law, Judith Rickert; sisters-in-law, Suzanne Leach, Sammy Becht and Andie San Angelo (Ralph Aiello); and nieces and nephews, Fenlon Everson, Bridget Dagenhardt, Jennifer Dagenhardt, Julia Dagenhardt, Gregory Dagenhardt, Lexi Leach, Kevin Leach, Stephanie Leach, Amber Kennedy, Tony San Angelo, Emma Aiello, Jarrod Becht, Emilie Becht, Aaron Becht and Danielle Becht.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jesse Leach; and father-in-law, Ronald Zilke.
