Gertrude K. Greany. 86 a retired licensed practical nurse who worked at Galen State Hospital, died Monday.

She was born Oct. 29, 1894, to James and Elizabeth Cavanaugh in Hudson, Iowa and was educated there. She married William Greany on Aug. 30, 1919, in Blessing, Iowa. They moved to Elliston in 1938 and to Deer Lodge, in 1945. They operated a grocery store in Anaconda 1947-52. Mr. Greany died in 1957. After that, she worked at the hospital, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include sons, Dr. Byron Greany of Anaconda, Paul of Drummond and Richard of Deer Lodge; sons-in-law and daughters. Dr. and Mrs. Myles (Regina) White of Miles City and Mr. and Mrs, Edward (Helen) Gill of Deer Lodge; brothers, Elmer, Earl and George of Waterloo, Iowa, and Ralph and Ed of Hudson: sisters, Mrs. Ted Scheffer and Ann Meyer, both of Waterloo; 24 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mass of the Resurrection was Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Deer Lodge with the Rev. Gregory Burke officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Ceme­tery. Wake service was in the Beck Funeral Home. Memori­als are suggested to charity.

Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Jim White, Bill Greany. Ed Gill. Pat Greany, J.D Greany and Tom Greany.
