Edmund Perry Wesley, 69, of 335 Transylvania Park, authorization officer at the Veteran's Administration, Louisville, died at 5:15 PM yesterday at his home after a long illness.
A native of Casey County, he was a son of the late George and Lucy Sweeney Wesley. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1912.
Mr. Wesley was a member of the Central Christian Church, the Masonic Order and had been a member of the American Legion for 40 years. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Dorcas Wesley, Lexington; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas J. Rentz, Lexington; two sons, Wayne Wesley, Salisburg, Maryland, and Edmund Wesley, Victoria, Texas; a sister, Mrs. N. B. Portman, Lexington; two brothers, Charles M. Wesley and J. O. Wesley, Louisville, and 11 grandchildren.
The body was taken to the W. R. Milward Mortuary -- Southland where services will be conducted at 10:30 AM Monday by the Rev. Leslie R. Smith. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Dr. Stuart McReary, Dr. Garnett Sweeney, George W. Wesley, William J. Wesley, Smith T. Powell, and Coleman Judy.
