Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church for Hazel Marie Istre, 101, who passed away on July 22, 2009 at 6:45 PM at her residence.
Reverend Tom Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Entombment will take place in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Mrs. Istre, a resident of Lafayette Parish, was the daughter of the late Leo Guilbeau of Scott, Louisiana and the former Anna Breaux of Scott, Louisiana. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruby Hernandez Gueno of Lafayette Parish; six grandchildren, Martha Marie Acostas, Deborah Ann Leger, Francine Hernandez, Marc Hernandez, Priscilla Prejean Johns, and Catherine Heard; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Mae Racca.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Oculie Hernandez, Jr., Sidney Duhon and Nolan Istre; two sons, Hugh Curtis Hernandez and Allen Joel Hernandez; six brothers and two sisters.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday, July 24, 2009 from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and continue at 8:00 am on Saturday until time of service at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott.
Pallbearers will be Kirk Racca, Tim Racca, Ed Hensley, Jr., Timmy Judice, Robert LeBlanc, and Burl Istre.
