Asa H. Adams, 82, of Curtice, OH, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon, OH. Asa was born on September 3 1921, to Bruce and Ethel (Craft) Adams. On June 2, 1939 in West Liberty, KY, he married Lillian E. Childers and she survives. Asa worked for General Motors Corp, at the G. M. Powertrain in Toledo for 30 years. He previously was employed with Willys Overland and Mather Spring, both in Toledo, OH, and he was a bus driver for Genoa Schools in the 1950's. Asa was a member of the Genoa Masonic Lodge #433, Genoa Council #138, Oak Harbor Chapter #162 and the Mazipa Masonic Lodge #105 Hazelgreen, KY. He enjoyed fishing especially on Lake Erie.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lillian; daughter, Linda (Denver) Diebert of Genoa; son, Conrad Adams of Toledo; daughter, Myra (Robert) Malek of Curtice; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Burl, Alta Mae, and Pheba; brothers, Larry and Linvelle. Asa was preceded in death by his mother, father, step mother, Pearl Adams, granddaughter, Sherry Adams, and sister, Norma.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2004, in the Robinson-Henn-Brossia Funeral Home, Genoa, with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery Genoa, OH. Visitation will be on Saturday June 5, 2004 from 2-8 p.m. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the donor's choice.
