Carl B. "Bert" Markert, 50, died Wednesday at Baptist Home East. He was a former disc jockey for WAKY, where he was known as "Weird Beard," and served as a radio dispatcher for the Rochester (N.Y.) Police Department. Survivors: his mother, Millie Markert; a sister, Liz Patton; a daughter, Sally Jo Speer; a son, Timothy Cooley; and a grandson. Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday, Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Burial: Fairview, New Albany, Ind. Visitation: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Memorial gifts: Multiple Sclerosis Society.
