JOSEPH MARION CLEMENTS, 50 a former distillery warehouseman, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, December 28, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. Ill health had caused him to leave his post at the Heaven Hill Distilleries about six months ago. Born at Springfield, Mr. Clements had lived for many years in Nelson County. He owned and resided on a farm near Botland, the family home place of his wife, the former Hattie Thompson. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Harriet "Hattie" Thompson Clements; four daughters, Betty, Janice, Theresa, and Sharon Clements; five sons, Joe David, Jerry, William, Eric, and John Ed Clements; three brothers, Ed and Pat Clements, Springfield; George T. Clements, Detroit, Michigan; one sister, Mrs. J.E. Abell, Lebanon; and one grandson who was born Christmas Day in Louisville. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Fredericktown. Rev. Father Hughes, pastor, was celebrant of the high Requiem Mass. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bardstown. Serving as active pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Clements. Honorary pallbearers were Louis M. Greer, Ernest Pile, Earl Doyle, William O'Daniel, Cam Blincoe, J.S. Mudd, G. E. Filiatreau, Thomas Filiatreau, Richard Hamilton, and Bryan Mudd. The body was at the Mann, Greenwell, and Arnold Funeral Home at Bardstown.
