Born in North Garden on March 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence Mawyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. "Speedie" Morris; a son-in-law, H. Wayne Stephens; a sister, Roxie Stanley, and a brother, Duval Mawyer.
Mrs. Morris was a member of Hinton Avenue United Methodist Church and was retired from the County of Albemarle Finance Depart-ment. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was soft spoken, yet generous, kind and loved her family in her own special gentle way.
She is survived by her five children, Earl Martin Morris of Stanardsville, Susan "Susie" Seiler and her husband, Cary, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Linda Bryant and her husband, Dale, of Scottsville, Patricia "Trisha" Stephens and her fianc?, John Roudabush, of Charlottesville, and Pam M. Goodwin of Keswick; a former daughter-in- law, Nancy Haney of Stanardsville, 10 grand-children, Ken Morris, Chris Morris, Keith Whitelock, Dana Ripley, Jeff Seiler, Matt Seiler, Eric Bryant, Patrick Stephens, Lauren Stephens and Grace Goodwin; and eight great- grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Walker of Charlottesville.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at Hinton Avenue United Methodist Church with the Reverend Edward Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
