AMY BROOKS
A memorial service will be held July 1 for Amy May Brooks of Eugene, who died June 28 of age related causes. She was 84.
She was born Sept. 5, 1912, in Carlyle, Mont., to Harry and Maude Cableigh. She married Francis "Bus" Brooks in Liberty, Mo., on March 12, 1938. She lived in Kansas City, Mo., from 1938 to 1959, then moved to Eugene. In 1973, she moved to Scio and in 1988 to Salem. Brooks returned to Eugene in 1990.
A homemaker, she volunteered as a Bible teacher at First Church of the Nazarene in Eugene.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Marjorie Brooks of Candlewood Isle, Conn., Janet Chambers of Willow, Alaska, and Carol Sweat of Foster City, Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy Halton of Naples, Fla., and Veneta Meder of Oakland, Calif., eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Tuesday's memorial service will be at 1 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Eugene. Burial will be at Parklawn Cemetery in Kansas City. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cascade Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
