Mr. William Lovelle Seymour, 79, of Elgin Road, Poolesville, died Friday, Aug. 14, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville.

He was the husband of Vera Flood Seymour.

Born Feb. 21, 1919, in Takoma Park, he was the son of the late William P. and Carolyn Mossburg Seymour. He was the stepson of the late Cleone E. Seymour.

Mr. Seymour served in World War II on the Battleship USS Indiana.

He was employed by the Montgomery County Board of Education in the heating control department.

He was a charter member of Daniel Jeffers Post 247 American Legion, Disabled American Veterans Memorial Chapter 12, and St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, David L. Seymour and wife Zeny of Hercules, Calif., and Mary Carolyn Raison and husband Joseph of Alexandria, Va.; five grandchildren, Anne Yumang and husband Gary, Edna and husband Jeff, Sandra Seymour, and Timothy and Patrick Raison; five great-grandchildren; one stepbrother, Stephen and wife Claudia; and three nieces, Suzanna, Becky and Tory.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Md. 109), Barnesville, where members of the American Legion will hold memorial services at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 20100 Fisher Ave., Poolesville.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Church, P.O. Box 387, Poolesville, Md. 20837.
