Article
The Frederick Post, June 9, 1961

Dorothy and Ed Spates opened their "Comus Inn" on Sunday, May 28. Feeling that "If the hill will not come to Mahomet, Mahomet will go to the hill," the Spates had the house moved from its original setting to a spot with an unrestricted view of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Inside, all the facilities have been arranged so the guests will have a full view of the mountain while dining, Mrs. Elizabeth Brown and Mrs. Elizabeth Allnutt, both of Poolesville, who are well-known for their homemade rolls, with many blue ribbons to prove it, are in charge of the baking.
