Arville Seiber, 65, of Coalfield, died Friday morning, May 29, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Seiber was employed with PGP Industries of Coalfield. He had been a truck driver for 30 years and had spent 16 years working as a coal miner.
He was born in Anderson County on Feb. 19, 1933, the son of Oliver and Nancy Elizabeth Byrge Seiber, both now deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Seiber was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Coalfield. He was also a member of Black Diamond Masonic Lodge No. 625, F&AM. He enjoyed gardening and beekeeping, the family said.
He is survived by his wife, Freida J. Seiber; four daughters, Linda Pride of Oliver Springs, Pamela L. Braden and her husband, Rodney, of Clinton, and Nancy JoAnn Beaver and her husband, Bill, and Julie A. Morgan and her husband, Doug, all of Oak Ridge; and two sons, Larry Arville Seiber and his wife, Becky, of Oliver Springs, and Daniel R. Daugherty of Coalfield.
Mr. Seiber is also survived by three sisters, Retha Christopher of Crossville, Eva Christopher of Petros and Opal Perkins of Kent, Ohio; and by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A sister and two brothers, Della Bunch, Harvey Seiber and Andy Seiber, died earlier.
The funeral was held Sunday night, May 31, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Coalfield with the Rev. Mack Smith and the Rev. Billy Edmonds officiating. A graveside service was to be held at 11 this morning, June 1, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton. Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is handling arrangements.
