She came to Oak Ridge in 1944 after graduation from Lenoir Rhyne College in North Carolina and was employed as a secretary at Y-12 Defense Facility.
After the war she taught business and typing at Oak Ridge High School until her marriage in 1948. She was employed by the State of Tennessee Dept. of Employment Security in the 1970's until her retirement in the 1990's.
Sudie traveled extensively after retirement.
She is survived by Two sons, John Murray, Tech Sgt (R) of Eagle River, Alaska; Keith Murray and wife Susan of Nashville, TN;
Two nephews and two nieces.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 20th, from 10 – 11 AM at Weatherford Mortuary with burial following at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
The family has requested that memorials be in the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association, American Arthritis Foundation, or charity of choice.
