Mabel C. Allen, 89, 113 McClelland St., died yesterday (April 27, 1978) at St. Anthony Hospital, where she had been a patient for five days.
Born in Kingsbury, Ind.,May 11,1888, the daughter of Henry and Antoinette (Catlin) Ellsworth, Mrs. Allen had moved here 27 years ago from Gary to live with her daughter, Mrs. Laurie (Judith) Esmoer. On Sept. 2,1907, she was married in Dowagiac, Mich., to William B. Allen, who died in 1951.
In addition to her daughter, other survivors include three other children, William, Cocoa Fla., Charles and Mrs. Kathryn Tokash, both of Gary; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grand grandchildren. Three sisters are deceased.

Funeral service is tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, with the Rev. James W. Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. today and tomorrow until the service.
