Jane was the wife of George Holly; mother of Stephen. She had been employed by Wells Fargo Bank prior to her death.

Jane was shot to death while washing clothes in a San Francisco laundromat. Her assailant, Manuel Moore, was convicted, and incarcerated in a California prison. Her murder was one of several which took place in the city during the period 1973-74, dubbed the "Zebra" murders.
