Chris Collins, a member of New Hope Baptist Church, died Saturday at a local hospital. He was 71. A native and resident of Mobile, he was a retired electrician. Survivors include his wife, Marie Goins Collins of Mobile; a son, Mitchell Collins of Loxley; two daughters, Kathi Miller of Miami and Donna Clark of Wilmer; three brothers, Claude Edward Collins and Kayo Reeves, both of Mobile, and Phillip Collins of Wilmer; two sisters, Betty Yarbrough and Camelia McCrory, both of Theodore; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral at Gilmer's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wilmer Cemetery.
