Allen Ueal Fred Allen, 85, Warren, died Wednesday at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Warren. Burial will follow at the Warren Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home, Lone Wolf. Ardron Hinton and Charlie Waugh officiated.

He was born April 10, 1917 in Blair to Charles Elmer and Laura E. (Clancy) Allen. He attended school in Warren and married Gladys Campbell Jan. 12, 1942 at Warren. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the 45th Infantry. He received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal with four bronze stars and the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was honorably discharged May 12, 1945. He later worked for the civil service at Altus Air Force Base, working as a carpenter, where he retired after more than 20 years of service.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, sports and talking with friends. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Laura; his wife Gladys; four sisters, Lillie, Minnie, Susie and Ella; and three brothers, Onzel, George and Clarence.

He is survived by son Lonnie Allen and many other family members and friends.
