Charles Henry Bayless son of Burton and Nancy Bayless was born November 19th, 1841 and departed this life March 14, 1923, aged 81 years, 3 months and 7 days. He had lived practically all his life in Camden Township. He was a veteran of the Civil War, serving in the 43rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry from the first call for men until peace was proclaimed. He has been in active business in Kipton for 27 years.
Elizabeth Dent, the daughter of Charles and Frances Dent, was born in England, July 6, 1923, aged 77 years, 8 months and 9 days. In May 11 th 1866 she was united in marriage with Charles H. Bayless, their having been married 55 years and departed this life fourteen hours apart. To this union were born two children, Charles and Lena. The daughter having preceded them to the grave in 1909.
They leave to mourn their loss the son and wife, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Peter Young and Mrs. Maude bates sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere".
Burial took place in Camden Cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
Relatives were present at the funeral from Cleveland, Elyria, Oberlin, Canton, and Toledo.
