Alois E. Abler, 57, formerly of 954 Willow St., Lomira, and a resident of 102 Sallie St., Fond du Lac, died Sun. Mar. 25, 1990, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Mt. Calvary, a son of Nicholas and Mary Helen Salchert Abler.

Mr. Abler was a graduate of Milwaukee School of Engineering. He formerly owned and operated Abler TV Sales in Mt. Calvary. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and the U.S. Coast Guard, and a former member of Mt. Calvary Lions Club. Mr. Abler was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include four daughters, Tricia of Milwaukee, Margaret Newsome of Elmwood, N.J., Louise Ransom and her husband Allan III of Fond du Lac, and Kathleen Leick and her husband Kevin of Marshfield; two sons, Joe and his wife Lynn of Raleigh N.C., and Douglas of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Allan Ransom IV, Jessica and Addison Ransom, and Michael Abler; one brother, Vernon and his wife Betty of Mt. Calvary; two sisters, Mary Esther Lucas of Plymouth, and Elizabeth Smith and her husband Howard of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and his former wife, Verna Abler of North Fond du Lac. Janice Decker was a special friend. His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Wed. at 1:30 p.m. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Sr. Grace Golata will officiate. Trier Puddy American Legion Post No. 75 will also conduct services on Wed. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services. Friends may call Tues. from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in his name may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation, 7332 W. State St., Milwaukee, Wis.
