Flora Mae (Doshier) Snodgrass Bex, a lifelong resident of the Antlers area, passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 1999 at the Pushmataha Hospital in Antlers, at the age 88 years. She was born August 11, 1910 in Darwin to George W. and Flora (Dupont) Doshier.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Antlers Church of Christ, with D. Brent Franks officiating. Interment followed at the Darwin Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Keitih Dobbs, Andy Dobbs, Arthur Tate, Ross Tate, Ruel Bain, and Russell Jones. Honorary pallbearers were E.H. Balmain, Joe Franks, Barden Taylor, Bob Dozier, Herbert Taylor, Clyde Taylor, and Stewart Taylor.
Bex had worked as a clerk at Sharpe's Department Store in Antlers. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Pushmataha Soil Conservation District, and involved with the Darwin Cemetey Board, Darwin Volunteer Fire Department, and the American Quarter Horse Association.
Surviving relatives include a sister-in-law, Marie Doshier; nine nieces and nephews, Patsy Martin Dobbs, Arthur Craig Tate, William Ross Tate, Andra Dobbs Collier, Keith J. Dobbs, Andy J. Dobbs, Fredda Sue Anderson, Gerrie Marie Kramer, and Karen Rae Smith; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Bex was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Charlie Snodgrass and E.F. Bex; a baby girl Snodgrass; brother, G.W. Doshier, Jr., and sister, Mary Doshier Dobbs.
