From the Arizona Daily Star (August 9, 2009):

LATHAM, Dr. Mark Guy Ph.D., born December 14, 1934, in Esbon, KS, and moved to Tucson in 1945. He passed peacefully on August 7, 2009.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carroll Porter Latham; his three children, Hope Latham Hosack (Jim), Lynanne Latham Dellerman, Max DeVon Latham and his ten grandchildren, Andrea, Jessica, Brittany, Cameo, Nicole, Breanne, Gavin, Jordan, Chantelle and Ciara and five great-grandchildren, Vesper, Elizabeth, Teagan, Rosie and Seamus.

He loved and enjoyed 26 years at Flowing Wells High School, where he was a teacher, counselor, psychologist and coach.

Mark was an avid golfer, with his fondest memories being those that took place on the course with the students he coached and his many friends. Mark was dedicated to the Lord and showed his love by emulating the Savior. He served three missions, one as a youth and two in his twilight years, where he was an inspiration to those he worked with.

Mark was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor. He will be remembered for his love of golf, his humor, hugs, kind words, smiling countenance, uplifting comments and his great love for all he knew. Dad, you are our hero, your hugs will sustain us until we meet again.

Funeral services will take place at the LDS chapel, 55 W. Arrowsmith Dr., Oro Valley. Viewing at 9:00 a.m. and Services at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Interment following at Binghampton Cemetery. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in the name of Mark Latham to the Flowing Wells High School Golf Program.
