William Tensley Almand was born March 31,1895 at home in Morgan County, Georgia to Louis Anderson and Nancy "Annie" Sanders Almand. He married his first cousin, Mattie Sue Noell, daughter of Thomas Oscar and Martha Jane Sanders Noell on December 12,1915. On December 5, 1932 he chose to end his life, leaving his wife with four children to raise. Many reasons have been given, but the one I believe is that the local banker talked him into putting his money into the bank. The banker then closed the doors of the bank. This I have verified that the dates do match. My father's sister later retired to this little town. Someone in this town threw this event in her face. Her research lead to these facts. She felt the town covered for this man. I do not know who he was. To this day, both the action of my grandfather and if true the banker has done damage to my family.
