School in 1934, and from South Dakota School Of Mines and Technology in 1941.
He married Lois Richardson February 14, 1942, at Spokane, WA.
Fred was a metallurgical engineer in Colorado until retiring about 18 months
ago.
Surviving are his widow, Lois, Arvada, CO; two sons, David, Central City, CO,
and Paul, Arvada; his mother, Mrs. Kate Munson, Rapid City; a brother, Darrell
Munson, Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, Mrs. Chester (Selma) Janik, Orchard Park,
NY, and Mrs. Woody (Jacquie) Pelkey, Rapid City; one grandson; two aunts; nine
nephews; and five nieces.
Family graveside rites were conducted Saturday morning in the Bell Park Cemetery
near Rochford by his sons, David and Paul, and mother-in-law, Mrs. Clarence
Richardson of Black Hawk. Burial was under the direction of Wells-Ruth Funeral
Home of Deadwood.
A memorial has been established to the scholarship fund of South Dakota School
of Mines and Technology.
