Her maternal grandparents were Charles and Louise Keil. Her mother in law Mary Gilman was a long term member of the Universalist Church in Dane Co. where she was laid to rest in 1922.
The homeland was Germany/Prussia-Czechoslavakia for both maternal and paternal grandparents with immigration occurring in 1880s.
Her first marriage was to Walter F. Gilman. She married into a family of many Gilman relatives-Walter at 48 and Adah at 26-he had numerous(siblings=step siblings/Adah being a step sister in law to Ellen(Bevens), Edgar and Edward, Alice, MaryRuth Gilman; baby Mary(Death at a year/Walter's mother Mary Flatt Gilman death shortly after each contracted fatal disease), and with Walter siblings and step siblings being numerous.
A wedding for Adah and Walter Gilman married at St. Joseph's in Berrien, Michigan on 9/24/1919. A copy of their wedding/ location was found by niece Colleen Lowry supported the bride and groom along with Adah's brother Charles Staniske as a witness of their matrimony.
They had 1 child, Lois M. Gilman, born in 1922. Child Lois married to a federal bureau investigation agent Ralph Louis Frank-=Lois and he relocating to the East Coast(New Jersey). Daughter Lois gave Adah grandchildren Kristi and Ralph Jr. and great grandchildren Mary, Grace, and James Holzer;
Lois' death in 2012. and unfortunately Kristi tragically passed in 2004 at early 50s prior to her mother Lois' passing.
Adah and Walter lived in Stoughton, Wisconsin. In 1920 they had Walter's mother and Mary's sister-Maggie Flatt (Walter's aunt)living with them in Stoughton. Maggie remained a teacher/single throughout her life.
Walter died in 1938 and Adah's second marriage was June 1, 1939 in Dane Co., Wi. to Elmer Bitter. She married with his two sisters, his step siblings being her immediate in law family but the extensive Bitter family were all locals. He owned a tavern business in Stoughton.
They lived at rural route #2, Stoughton for a number of years after her daughter married Ralph Frank a special investigator for the FBI living in New Jersey. Adah's grandchildren Kristi Holzer and Ralph Jr. remained there with Kristi marrying with blessing her with great grandchildren and Kristi unfortunately passing at 44 years early in life in 2012.
Her final days were spent in Dane Co. area. She rests in the Stoughton local cemetery where husband Elmer had his final resting.
