ACKERMAN - Mrs. Ruby Smith Wood, 72, died Wednesday in Grenada County Hospital in Grenada. Services were Thursday at Adams-Nowell Funeral Home with burial in Antioch Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Noah Wood; daughters, Mrs. Betty Edwards of Starkville and Mrs. Jerry Pierce of Grenada; mother, Mrs. Lillie Hawkins Smith of Jackson; sisters, Mrs. Sue Hartley and Mrs. Arlin Oneta Simpson, both of Jackson, Mrs. Ava Jackson of Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Merle Thompson of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Elizabeth Ray of Starkville; brother, Haywood Smith of Hot Springs, Ark.; and six grandchildren.
