Funeral services for Margie Mae Jordan Foster, 87, of Leesville, Louisiana were Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, Rev. Gil Arthur officiated. Burial followed in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville.

Margie, the daughter of Alfred and Myrtle Baggs Jordan, was born on June 29, 1924, in Leesville, Louisiana. She passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011, in Alexandria, LA.

Margie Foster graduated from Pickering High School in 1944 and moved to Fort Worth, Texas where she worked and attended business college. She married Lealon Foster in 1946 when he returned home from World War II. They were married 46 years and had three children, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Margie and Lealon joined East Leesville Baptist Church in 1953 and she soon began teaching children in Sunday School and GA's; later she became the outreach leader for the 2nd Grade and for many years, every 2nd grader received a phone call from Mrs. Foster every Saturday night. When she "retired" from teaching children, she became a faithful member of the Sisters in Christ Sunday School class, currently taught and ministered to by Ms. Josie Lamberth. For the past four years, she also loved listening to children say their memory verses in AWANA on Wednesday nights.

Ms. Margie began teaching English as a Second Language at Helping Hands Storefront Ministry in 1993 and continued teaching students until her recent illness. Ms. Margie loved visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time popping popcorn, baking cakes, and parching peanuts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lealon Clifton Foster; son, Randal Keith Foster; parents, Alfred and Myrtle Baggs Jordan; brothers, Joe Jordan & Samuel Jordan and sisters, Mary Jane Burgess, Donna Faye Pace & Mildred Rae Jordan.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Clyde Price of Leesville; son and daughter-in-law, Dean Clifton and Margaret Foster of Leesville; brothers, Sanfred & JoEllen Jordan of Lake Charles & George Jordan of New Boston, TX; sisters, Margaret Reeks of Monroe & Alpha Martin of Leesville; sister-in-law, Pat Martin of Leesville; brother-in-law, L. O. Foster of Toro; grandchildren, Darla and Chad Fletcher of San Antonio, TX, Duane Price of Leesville, Carrie & Jeremy Lisenbe of Conroe, TX, Brant & Jamie Foster of Keithville, LA, Erin Foster of Shreveport, Christina Simpkins of DeBerry, TX, Jeremy Foster of DeBerry, TX, Justin Foster of Leesville, Brandon Foster of Leesville and Kenneth Rippey of DeBerry, TX; great grandchildren, Allyson, Aimee and Danielle Fletcher, Landon and Kaydon Price, Maddie, Makayla and Mylie Lisenbe, Ariel Foster, Keith Foster, Blake and Shane Simpkins, Olivia and Ethan Foster, Aizlynn and Breanne Rippey and a host of nieces and nephews.
