Audrey Jane Scott Waite, 82, of Clay City passed away at 3:40 PM, Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in the St. Vincent Clay Hospital. She was born April 9, 1925 in Wabash, Indiana to Gainor Douglas and Zelma T. Ring Scott. She was a member of the Clay City 1st United Church of Christ, a 1943 graduate of Wabash High School and was Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack #2 in Clay City for many years. She enjoyed camping, gardening, canning,crocheting and quilting and her membership in the Terre Haute YMCA Senior Swim Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen E. Waite, a son, Ezra Waite and two sisters, Alice Baxter and Carol Engelman. Survivors include 4 sons, David G. Waite and wife Martha of Clinton, Douglas S. Waite and wife Marlane of Clay City, William P. Waite, and Gary E. Waite and wife Roseanne of Cory; 3 daughters, Nancy J. Alumbaugh and husband Cletis of Carlisle, Carol J. Gaskins and husband Rick of Sullivan and Sharon S. McHenry and husband John of Clay City; an aunt, Marjorie Lanning of Columbus; 15 grandchildren, Gregory D. Waite, Steven D.Waite, Andrew S. Waite, Brock W. Waite, Kelsey K. Waite, Kasey N. Waite, Sarah E. Reeves, Molly L. Warren, Benjamin E. Waite, Kenny Waite,Ryan J. McHenry, Megan J. McHenry, Sean P. McHenry, Molly A. McHenry and Melissa B. McHenry and 3 great-grandchildren, Jordan Michelle Huxford, Gabrielle Lynn Warren and Corbin S. Waite.

Services will be in the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City at 2 PM, Saturday, December 15, 2007 with visitation from Noon until Services. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
