Monday evening at 6 o'clock, Dr. H.U. Mashburn, a popular young dentist of Wedowee, and Miss Willie Thompson, of the faculty of Wedowee College, were married at the Commercial Hotel in Roanoke, Geo. W. Stevens, Esq., officiating. The next morning they left for Eclectric, in South Alabama, to spend the holidays at the home of the bride's parents.( Note:She was enumerated in the household of her grandparent's,William Sylvester Thompson and his second wife,Martha J. Worrell Thompson in the 1900 census in Eclectic, Elmore, Alabama.)
