She was born in Skyles, W. Va., to the late Conda and Rettie Hosey and had been an Akron resident for most of her life. She attended the Akron Springfield Assembly of God church, loved quilting and gardening, and was a devoted homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley E.; son, Darrell; daughter-in-law, Elaine; six brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sons, Shirley L. of Texas and Harold (Phyllis) of Tennessee; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Walter, of Utah.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel E. Market St., with Rev. Joseph Serbin officiating. Interment at East Akron Cemetery. T
