Sarah began her High School studies at Red Wing, Minnesota, but in her second year she had to give up school, having contracted tuberculosis. She bore her suffering with much patience and passed away July 5, 1901 at her home. Her remains were laid to rest in the Methodist cemetery in Belvidere Township, Goodhue, Minnesota.
