Judy was born on November 4, 1938 in Wauchula, Florida. Her father was Leavy Powell Deal and her mother was Anita Scaravella Deal. Her brother James Powell Deal was born when Judy was 5 years old. Judy's entire childhood was spent in Wauchula and she attended Wauchula Elementary School and graduated from Hardee County High School in 1956.
In 1957 she married Joseph Lamar Knight, owner of Knight's Restaurant. They had three daughters..Nona Alison, Dana Virginia and Mary Elizabeth. The grand children of the union are Ashley Alison Moore, Haley Moore and Lindsey Moore, children of Nona and Darryl Moore. Nona and Lindsey died in an automobile accident on May 11, 2001. Lamar and Mason Jahna are the grandsons whose parents are Albert and Beth Jahna.
Except for a very brief period in Jacksonville, Judy lived her entire life in Wauchula. She and Lamar celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 18, 2007 and Judy died December 28, 2007.
