Beloved Lady Called Away.
Athens, Ala, December 21 - Mrs. India Witty Crutcher, 69, wife of Dr. John S. Crutcher, and one of Limestone County's most widely beloved residents, passed away shortly after 10 o'clock last night, following an extended illness of pneumonia.

Funeral services will be conducted at the First Methodist Church Friday morning at 10 o'clock by Dr. U. S. Pitts, the pastor, assisted by Dr. E. R. Naylor, president of Athens College, McConnell directing.

Pallbearers will be Dr. J. O. Belue, Herman M. Cole, Dr. John P. Hill, James W. Chambers Jr., Nick Nichols Jr., and Leslie M. Nelson. Stewards of the Methodist Church will be honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Crutcher is survived by her husband, Dr. John S. Crutcher Sr., one son, Dr. John S. Crutcher Jr.; two daughters, Miss Lucille Crutcher of Denton, Texas, and Mrs. Leonard L. Wallace of Oglethorpe University.

The deceased was a member of one of the pioneer Limestone County families which has resided in the county 160 years. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Witty of the Cross Keys sections and a granddaughter of George Witty, reputed to have been the first white child born in Limestone

Mrs. Crutcher was active in church and community circle and her death occasioned widespread sorrow.
