Funeral Set for Mrs. Bauer Here Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Elfrieda Hedwig Bauer, a resident of Ritzville from 1926 until 1952, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bauer died Sunday at Willapa Harbor hospital in Centralia after a 12-month illness.
Rev. Herbert Haemmelmann of the Philadelphia Congregational church will officiate at the services. Interment will be at Ritzville Memorial cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Walters Miller, Martin Meyer, Jim Webb, Dr. Lloyd Haight, Dave Hoefel and Lee Burroughs.
The daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Herman Nuetzmann, she was born in Germany on April 21, 1906. She attended schools in North and South Dakota and was graduated from Redfield, S. Dak., in 1924.
She moved to Ritzville in 1926 and was married to Martin Bauer on Dec. 31, 1927. They lived here until 1952, then moved to Suquamish. The family lived there until 1960, then moved to Centralia.
She was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are her husband at the home; two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Heimbigner of Odessa and Mrs. Joan Stewart of Suquamish; a son, Robert, of Centralia; and her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Herman Nuetzmann of Elk Grove, Calif.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. J. C. Proffitt of South Bend, Mrs. F. R. West, jr., of Washtucna, Mrs. Lydia Huffnergie of Hansville, and Mrs. Adam Fieckert of Elk Grove, Calif.; four brothers, Herbert, Wilbert and Benno, all of Seattle and Elmer of Los Angeles, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
