The former Viola Hanson was born in the Town of Eaton (Manitowoc County), on July 24, 1901, daughter of Fred and Dora Reimers Hanson. She attended school in the Town of Eaton. On May 21, 1927, she and Oscar Peik were married in Chilton. He died Oct. 1, 1946.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence of Reedsville; three daughters, Mrs. Lucinda Buchberger of Helenville, Mrs. Ernest (Erna) Bowe of Dousman and Mrs. Neil (LaVern) Avery of Manitowoc; 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 8 tonight at Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home, New Holstein, with the Rev. George Knudson, retired pastor of First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, officiating. Burial will be in New Holstein City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. '
